The purpose of this study was to analyze the urban transformation of high density detached housing area through informatization. Informatization not only homogenizes city by ubiquitous internet connection but also highlights a 'real' place which provides a particular haptic experience that cannot be replaced by information technology. Individual cafes with their own identity are generated in a high density housing area that provides unique ambience compared with commercialized zones. Decisively the proliferation of individual cafe is encouraged by internet search engines, especially blogs and well-developed map services. The transformation aries from the various individualities in smallness and the search engines that forms locality. |
