¿ä¾à2 In the present scenario, the building information model (BIM) has become an essential tool in the architecture industry. BIM can be customized according to the different requirements of various architectural departments; however, BIM-based building energy analysis still is limited in terms of its application. The combination of sustainable building analysis and BIM has considerable potential. To emphasize this potential, this study uses three approaches. First, a conventional CAD-based problem is presented. Second, innovative BIM-based analysis are tested wherein Autodesk REVIT, Green Building Studio, eQUEST and gbXML are combined with BIM to save time, cost and building energy, by using more efficient analytical procedures. Third, BIM and gbXML are used to assess the building performances and energy conservation of the ¡°Wadsworth High School & Community Campus.¡± Using the procedure described in this study, architects and engineers will be able to analyze building performances without additional energy modeling and repetitive inputs. Thus, it can be concluded that this new BIM-based sustainable design process will enable architects to obtain reasonable solutions by using BIM and building simulation programs.
