Recently, seismic performance of unreinforced masonry residential buildings becomes a popular issue in the country. Therefore, structural engineers come to increasing needs to analyze the masonry buildings. However, MIDAS GEN, which is a structural analysis and design tool used by most structural design companies in the country, does not provide input items for masonry structures. In this background, this paper introduces a way to analyze masonry buildings using MIDAS GEN. A two-story unreinforced masonry residential building were selected and nonlinear pushover analysis was conducted using the introduced way. A little error was detected, but it may provide structural engineers with valuable information. |
