Because of the diversity and uniqueness, Construction project has a lot of uncertainty. To resolve these uncertainties, in the process of the construction process, cost estimations should be made several times over the processes. Especially, early stage cost estimating is essential process for the successful project achievement. To estimate proper construction cost, it is necessary to compare with actual cost data of the other projects. In this context, Case-based reasoning(CBR), which is the process of solving new problems based on the solutions of similar past problems, can be viewed as a effective method for cost estimating. For this, we should define the attribute similaties and attribute weights. However, the problem of determining attribute weight is that existing methods can not determine attribute weights of qualitative variables. Consequently, this leads to low accuracy results of cost estimation. This research suggests the method of determining attribute weight of qualitative variable by using Genetic Algorithm(GA). |
