Underground space is an effective solution in urban spaces due to it's limitations in space ability. However, in such a place like underground with no access to daylight, people tend to feel secluded. Recent paradigm such as well-being, sustainable technologies guided us to have more interest in quality of indoor environment. And improving light quality in underground space can be the one solution. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of light pipe system installed in underground parking lot to identify its application range and ability of the system. For the experiment, light pipe was installed in underground parking lot located in actual construction site. The experimental space was 6.5m(W) ¡¿ 16m(D) ¡¿ 6.1m(H) and the diameter of light pipe was 0.65m. The experiment was conducted under clear sky condition. The monitoring of illuminance data was analyzed and compared by Korean illuminance standards for underground parking lot. The results showed light pipe is efficient until 3.5m away from the center of the system from 10am to 4pm. |
