University dormitory is a place which should be equipped with both educational and residential functions. Moreover, it ought to provide environment that can improve the quality of schoolwork by satisfying students’ various needs through changing its spatial composition properly for the current trend. Hereupon, this study examines the spatial characteristics of dormitories presently being used and performs post-occupancy evaluation on them; thereby, it intends to figure out and improve their exiting problems and suggest foundational data for the dormitory design hereafter. In conclusion, when dormitory construction is planned afterwards, it will be necessary to secure private space in each room and grope for solutions to reduce noise. In addition, it is also thought that the satisfaction of all occupants can be higher when subsidiary facilities such as convenient space and sanitation are expanded properly for the number of students residing in them. |
