The purpose of this study is to address what Ken Yeang's void space is, which has direct connection between inside and outside place of the buildings, means in the process of planning skyscraper, how it has architectural significance in the viewpoint of eco-friendly structures, and what is the definite function of those. The reason why his works has been chosen is that he had shown distinctive and experimental void space making skyscrapers have more eco-friendly factors. Selections of his works in this study are buildings showing significant utilization of voids as the ecological factor constructed after 1990 which is the very time that the notion of ecological architecture arise. The result of this study should be a proposal to built eco-friendly skyscraper which is essential in compact domestic city. |
