This research addresses the way of extracting the necessary text-based information from the map which presents the information about urban condition in the form of the drawings. To do so, we propose a common structure that can represent the text-based information and the map-based information with the same format. Transforming the two different knowledge systems such as the map-based information and the text-based information into the same structure, it becomes possible to compare the two systems and accordingly to extract the necessary text-based information from the map. By employing such theory, we implemented an application which can be used for retrieving the text-based information from the map-based information. |
