디자인 분야에 있어서 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 주도적 역할을 담당하였던 기계문명에 대하여 새롭게 인류의 정신적 가치와 감성을 탐구하려는 최근의 경향은 그 동안 합리성에 바탕을 둔 모더니즘에 의해 도외시되었던 인간의 감성과 정신적 가치에 대한 새로운 시각을 필요로 하고 있다. 그러므로 기계 문명에 인본적 가치를 접목시키려 하였던 아르누보 운동에 대한 평가를 새롭게 하도록 하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 모더니즘의 합리성하에서 장식적으로 분류된 아르누보의 내재적 의미와 아르누보 정신에 관한 연구를 목적으로 한다. |

The literal Meaning of Art Nouveau is 'New Art'. It means that Art Nouveau was conceived momentous sense of transition in the close of 19C and found the way to overcome that situation. So, This Study aims to discover the Meaning and Characteristic of Art Nouveau through it's Linear form. Through this study, linear form of Art Nouveau served not merely to decorate building, but to liberate space. With linear forms, Art Nouveau artists synthesize all exterior and interior elements - from doors and windows to carpets and furnishings - by one's emotional rhythm and occasionally change the feel of space that adorned with another style. First of all, linear form is a method for 'Art for Art sake', and the possibility of linear form does not disappear. |
