Seoul Metropolitan Government has established a plan to exchange the lamp and ballast of lighting fixtures in street to improve the energy performance and visual environment. This paper aims to evaluate the efficiency of the plan. For the purpose, the horizontal and spatial illuminance, luminance, color temperature and chromaticity were measured in two streets Seoul Jongno-gu changgyeonggung street and Jungnang-gu mangu street. The results of the study are as follows: ¨ç Horizontal and spatial illuminance increased about 1.25 times. ¨è The apparent appearance was changed warm to cool since the average color temperature increased 2,502[K] to 3,918[K]. ¨é Visual performance were increased due to the change of apparent brightness from warm to cool. ¨ê The annual energy consumption is expected to reduce considerable by high performance metal halide lamp. |
