The UNESCO Building Rooftop where reflecting an urban biosphere reserve concept is the first model that is applied to the top of a building in urban area. Also, this rooftop was applied its function as the habitats of various wild animals not a general green roof style. Therefore, objectives of this study are as follows; At first, presentation of the method of management about a dominant species through vegetable monitering. Second, setting on basic data for creation the rooftop habitats which are similar to the UNESCO Building green roof in the future. The following conclusions are derived. It was observed that species living in these rooftop were 205species. 120species were planted about two years ago. Now, Most of the planted plants have grown well. Sedum takesimense, Sedum kamtschaticum, Petasites japonicus, Mentha arvensis var.piperascens should be carried out proper management because these species prevent other plants from growning. Invasive species were observed 85 species from 2003 year to spring, 2005 year. Also, We founded that Artemisia princeps var.orientalis was required to physical management because it prevented planted plants from growning through its dominant growth. So, Well-breeding plants should be planted in transition zone where outside intervention is occurred frequently. |
