정보기술(IT)의 발전은 디지털을 통해 건축환경을 융합하고 변형시키고 있으며, 몇몇 실험적인 건축가들에 의한 이러한 시도를 우리는 디지털 건축 이라고 부른다. 그들은 물리적 환경 안에서 가상성의 기술을 통합함으로써, 가상세계와 현실세계 사이의 경계를 허물고 비기하학적인 형태가 전자적 공간을 통해 그 형태가 변화해가는 과정이나 공간 구성의 하이브리드한 특성 들을 보여주고 있다. 이러한 건축가들은 개인주택의 전통적인 구조에 도전 하고 있다.
그리고 아직까지 이러한 디지털 건축의 단계별 발전에 대한 정의가 없었기에 이러한 디지털 건축에 대한 상반된 견해가 혼재되어 우리를 혼란에 빠뜨리는 것이다. 사실 디지털 건축의 발전 추이에는 명확한 구분이 있는 것은 아니 지만, 몇 가지 단계를 거치는 것만은 분명한 것 같다. 궁극적으로는 자연 발생적인 형태변이가 이루어지는 현실이겠지만, 그 중간 단계는 지금 여러 실험적이고 진보적인 건축가들에 의해 개척되고 있다.
이에 지금의 테크놀로지를 이용한 디지털 건축을 통해 우리 생활양식의 변화 를 어떻게 주택 디자인에 적용하게 될 지에 대해 살펴보고, 이러한 디지털화 된 주거환경은 어떻게 표현되는지에 대해서도 살펴본다 |

Changing demographics, changing lifestyles. An international group of architects designs the homes of the future in places as diverse as USA, Japan, South America and Europe. These architects are also challenging the traditional structure of the private house, as we know it. Many of these architects are reinterpreting the private house, challenging traditional notions of what makes a house.
Here, the interior and exterior surfaces are transformed into 'smart skins', which blur the distinction between the digital and the real and become a part of the daily life of the occupants.
The smart house will make possible amazing things we thought existed only in science fiction, guarding our welfare, guessing our moods and catering to our demands in music, movies, temperature and ambience. And new materials will further transform our living areas. |
