전통문양에 대한 선행연구를 살펴보면, 의식주에 관련된 생활 전반을 다룬 것이 대부분으로 의장적 측면만을 파악하고 있다. 또한 그 종류를 다루 고 있는 문헌은 매우 많으나 전통주택의 공간 및 용도에 따라 사용된 상징성 을 중심으로 한 의미론적으로 문양을 다룬 연구는 거의 없다. 따라서 현재 많은 연구에서 제시하고 있는 전통 문양에 대한 다양한 분류들을 체계화하여 전통주택이나 실내, 가구 디자인 등에서 현대적인 이미지로 재현하고 그 의미를 계승할 수 있는 적합한 분류의 체계화와 현대에 맞는 문양의 디자인 과 적용에 대한 연구는 매우 필요하다. 이를 위해 현대인들이 전통주택에 사용된 문양에 대한 의미해석과 태도 등을 파악해 보는 것은 미래의 디자인 에 한국인의 자아정체성을 표현하고, 아울러 한국의 전통성을 표현해 낼 수 있는 매우 효과적인 디자인 방법이 될 것이다.
이러한 문제점의 인식에서 출발하여 본 연구에서는 전통성을 현대화시키는 방법의 하나로서, 선행연구에서 나타난 한국전통주택에 사용된 문양의 특성 과 그 전통적 의미를 기준으로 하여 그 의미가 현대인들에게 지속적으로 계승되고 있는지 혹은 새로운 의미로 재해석되고 있는지에 대한 조사 및 해석을 통해 궁극적으로 한국전통문양의 특성과 의미를 계승, 발전시켜 나아갈 수 있는 기초자료를 제안하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 한국 전통 주택에 사용된 문양에 대한 현대인들의 의미해석과 전통문양에 대한 태도를 파악하는 것을 주요 목적으로 한다. |

The purpose of this study is to investigate the modern meanings and attitudes of the motives shown in the traditional houses. Research methods to achieve this purpose are review of literature and the questionnaire survey. The major results of this study are as follows; First, The interpretation of the modern meanings of the traditional motives were mainly affected by 'the forms and shapes of the motives rather than 'the meanings and symbols of the motives'. Second, many people felt friendly, preferable to use the motives in modern design, decorative and good-meaningful about the motives. Through this results related to the attitudes of the motives, each motive should be developed by new design and needed the modification.; Especially, 'flower-shape', '亞-shape', '正-shape', '喜-shape' were good motives to use in modern exterior and interior design. |
