본 연구에서는 가구 통행 실태 조사 자료를 통하여 신도시 입주가 완료된 시점인 1996년과 2002년 시점에서 자족적 수준이 어떻게 변화하고 있는지를 살펴보도록 한다. 또한 신도시 자족 수준의 시간적 변화와 함께 신도시 건설이 주변지역의 자족 수준 변화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하도록 한다. 이러한 분석을 통해 신도시 건설에서 목표했던 기능이 형성되어가고 있는지를 분석하고 적절한 자족성의 요구수준에 대한 달성 가능성을 예측하고자 한다. |

5 new towns in SMA were developed to alleviate overcrowding conditions in Seoul. However, 5 new towns have been blamed for the high dependency on Seoul due to the lack of self-containment. Given that it takes time for a new town to achieve its original aim from the international perspective, the functional change in 5 new towns might be going on. This study examines the change of self-contained level using O-D data in 5 new towns. The results reveal the facts that the self-contained level of 5 new towns has become higher over the years and 5 new towns have low auto-dependency as planned cities. This means 5 new towns have potential to be local business centers and sustainable cities. |
