본 연구는 한국주택에서 서구인이 이질감을 느끼는 공간인 현관, 욕실, 세탁실을 대상으로 그들의 생활행태와 공간의 요구를 살펴보았다. 조사는 설문지조사와 심층면접법을 선택하였으며 서울과 부산의 대도시에 거주하는 서구인을 선정하였다. 조사내용은 조사대상의 일반적 특성, 및 주택 특성과 현관, 욕실, 세탁실의 주생활행위, 개조요구사항, 선호사항으로 구성하였다. ??본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 재한 서구인 주택의 현관 계획 시는 완전 서구 취향의 계획보다는 그들이 요구하는 요소와 한국주택의 우수한 요소가 함께 계획되어야 한다. 따라서 현관공간을 구획하되 실내공간과 이어지는 신발턱의 높이는 낮게 계획한다. 신발장은 내부 공간은 외투와 신발을 수납할 수 있도록 구성을 하며, 폭은 서구인의 신발길이를 감안하고 충분한 용량의 수납이 되도록 계획한다.?? 2) 욕실은 샤워커텐이나 문이 설비될 수 있도록 하고 부부침실의??욕실은 샤워기만의 설비보다는 샤워부스나 샤워커텐을 달 수 있도록 배려한다. 욕실의 요구사항은 설비와 수납공간 문제가 가장 많으므로 이를 반영하여 계획한다. 즉, 사용자의 신체규모를 고려한 설비가 갖추어져야 하며, 붙박이 형 수납장 또는 벽걸이 형 등 입체적인 수납이 가능하도록 계획한다. 3) 세탁공간은 세탁기 외에 전기의류건조기도 많이 사용하므로 이 기기를 둘 면적을 고려하여 계획한다. 한편 독신용의 주거에서는 개별 가정의 세탁기 구비보다는 공동세탁장 설치가 바람직할 것으로 본다. 손세탁이 욕실세면기와 부엌싱크대에서 이루어지므로 다소 면적의 여유가 있을 경우 입식??손세탁조의 설치가 필요하다고 본다. 세탁공간에서 세탁 관련 행위가 모두 이루어지기를 원하므로 세탁, 건조, 다림질 등이 한 공간에서 될 수 있도록 계획되면 바람직하겠다. |

The aim of this study was to investigate the behavior of space usage for planning Westerners' housing in Korea. For this study, survey and depth-interview method were used for data collection. The questionnaires were distributed to 190 Westerners who currently reside in Seoul and Busan of Korea in October 2002 and March 2003. The number of respondents analyzed in the study was 76 in total. The depth-interview was conducted on 11(15%) of the respondents. The main items of the questionnaire asked about their behaviors and demand of the entrance, bathroom and laundry on housing in Korea. The major findings were as follows: 1) Most of the respondents took off their shoes at the entrance and store shoes in the shoe cabinet. Westerners followed the custom of taking off shoes inside the Korean houses. They appraised the good characteristics of Korean houses were the entrance and shoe closet. 2) In the bathroom, Westerners requested enough storage space and bathroom fixtures that meet their body size. Accordingly, these request should be considered. 3) The Westerners wanted clothing related work to be done in the laundry; therefore, this area should be large enough to place a washer, dryer, and ironing board. Also, our results can contribute to future study on the improvement of Korean houses and point to the good characteristics of Korean houses that may be pass down to the next generation. |
