현대건축에 있어 지역성을 표현하고자 하는 관심과 실험은 지속되고 있으나, 이에 대한 명증한 의미 탐색과 표출기법에 대한 논리적 접근이 미약하였다. 이에 논문은 하이데거(M. Heidegger) 사유의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 “열린 터”(the Open)와 “틈새내기(Rift-design)”로부터 지역성 논의를 위한 이론적 틀을 정립하고, 그것을 토대로 지역성 표출을 위한 실천적 기법으로서 ‘탈은폐적 몽타주’(disclosure montage)를 제안한다. 논리 전개의 과정에서 기존 지역성 논의의 한계를 지적하였으며, 지역성 논의를 위해서 사유의 전환이 기본적으로 전제되어야 할 필요성을 강조한다. ??지역성의 ‘창의적 열림’(creative opening)은 하이데거가 말하는 “틈새내기”의 방식을 통해 가능하며, ‘탈은폐적 몽타주’로서의 “형태”(Gestalt)는 세계(World)와 대지(Earth)의 끊임없는 ‘열림’(lighting)과 ‘숨김’(concealing)의 투쟁 가운데 “틈새”(rift)에서 창작될 수 있다고 주장한다. 이로써 현상 세계의 고착적이며 단편화된 삶에서 탈피하고, 존재가 거주하는 터전을 근거로 해서 타자와의 관계 속에서 변화무쌍하고 복합적인 삶의 양태를 형성할 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 “틈새내기”의 유용한 표현전략으로 제안한 ‘탈은폐적 몽타주’기법은 ‘재현’이나 ‘해체’의 이미지가 아니라, 제유(提喩)적 단편들이 결합하여 응축된 재활성화된(reactivated) 이미지를 드러낸다.??또한 이러한 ‘통합적 이미지’를 위해서는 단편들 간의 구성방식이 관건이 되며, 교직(交織)과 같이 ‘바닥-그리기’(Ground-riss)와 ‘수직-그리기’(Auf-riss)의 적절한 순환 반복의 과정이 수행되어야 한다는 논지를 제안한다. 이러한 지역성의 ‘탈은폐’는 스티븐 홀의 건축개념과 작품에서 그 가능성을 찾아볼 수 있었다. |

In contemporary architecture, the expression of regionality has been continuously interested and experimented.??But there were few theoretical approaches on the meaning of regionality and few authentic??explorations for the expression of it.??Thus this paper draws out a theoretical frame for regionality from Heidegger's two main thoughts , “the Open” and “Rift-design” and suggests ‘disclosure montage’ as a??technique of the practical expression of them in architecture. The ‘creative opening’ of regionality is possible through “Rift-design.”??And??“Gestalt”, in other words, disclosure montage, can be created in the “rift” by “the conflict between lighting and concealing in the opposition of the world and earth”. An architecturally reactivated images of a region are revealed through the technique of ‘disclosure montage’ as a useful expression strategy of “the Open” and “Rift-design.”??Finally,??in order??to verify the above mentioned theory, Steven Hall's works??are made into a scrutiny. |
