A conceptual design and analysis tool for energy efficient building with renewable energies integrated, Energy-10 version 1.5 has been newly released from NREL(National Renewable Energy Laboratory) to assess the impact of various EES's (Energy Efficiency Strategies) with renewable energies such as passive and active solar technologies. This integrated process and approach with Energy-10 could propose an optimum set of multiple EES's in earlier design phase for better renewable energies to be implemented more effectively. A case with Daylighting, Glazing, Energy Efficiency HVAC, Air Leakage Control could be a better choice for a selected office building case in terms of energy and GHG(Green House Gas, CO2, SO2, NOx) annual emission performance. This new approach and method have been introduced with Energy-10 and a case study to meet a demand from the new government renewable energy dissemination policy. |
