본 연구에서는 수원시의 공간구조발달과정의 각 단계에서 형성?변화하게 한 요인이 무엇이었는가를 밝혀내고, 이들 요인이 공간구조상에 어떻게 투영되어 오늘날과 같은 도시공간구조를 형성해 왔는가를 설명함으로써 수원시 도시공간발달의 특징 추출과, 향후 수원시 도시개발계획의 중요한 전제조건이 되도록 하고자 한다.
따라서, 본 연구에서는 수원시를 대상으로 도시공간구조의 형태적 변화 과정을 고찰함으로써 다음과 같은 목적을 달성 할 수 있다.
첫째, 도시형성과정과 항공사진으로 나타난 수원시 시가지의 공간적 변화가 어떠한 관계가 있는지에 대한 도시공간형태의 분포를 조사?분석한다.
둘째, 분석시기별로 나타난 도시공간구조의 형태적 변화 특징을 도출한다.
셋째, 수원시 도시공간구조의 형태적 변화와 이에 따른 기존의 이론적 공간구조를 비교?검토하여 분석시기별로 어떠한 구조가 적용될 수 있는지 확인한다.
넷째, 도시공간구조 모식도(模式圖)를 통한 도시의 정체성(Identity)을 부여하는데 크게 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
또한, 본 연구는 수원시 공간구조의 형태적 변화를 분석하는 과정을 통하여 하나의 기본적 개념을 정립(定立)한다는 측면에서 의의(意義)를 가지고 있다. |

The purpose of this study is to see how urban spatial structure in Suwon city has been transformed with time and to find out what factors have influenced the transformation process. Research data was collected through analyzing aerial pictures of the city, the city plans, and other materials related to the city development plans, all of which were created between the 1940s and the 1990s. In order to see how the city structure has been changed with time, this study has analyzed various infrastructures of the city such as Hwaseong Fortress constructed during King Jeongjo period 200 years ago and other contemporary spatial structures existing in the city. The research findings show that the city has been expanded through construction of railroads and high ways and that spatial structure of the city has been transformed through development paradigm such as housing and other industrialization policies. The findings of this study indicate that urban spatial structure plan should be devised centering not on mere expansion policies but on the possibility of the cities multidimensional, balanced, and sustainable development. |
