This study aims at showing the method to select the reasonable alternatives of water supply system in high-rise office buildings. For this purpose, life cycle costing method which considers initial cost, recurring cost such as energy cost, maintenance cost and replacement cost, salvage cost and associated cost like denial-of-use costs during analysis period is introduced.Water supply system in high-rise buildings is generally utilized one of gravity tank system, booster pump system and hydro-pneumatic tank system. For the extending the vertical zone, pressure reducing valve(PRV) is often utilized. In this study, life cycle costing method using present worth is performed in order to estimate the total cost of 7 alternatives for comparing one another. As a result, the cost of the gravity tank system with the elevated tank and the pressure reducing system is relatively low and that of booster pump system is higher in each cost catagory. Also, in every case, the cost of system with elevated tank is lower than that of system which has not. |
