The farmhouses in Yongdong area exist in largely four residential types - the traditional farmhouses, the reformed farmhouses, the modern farmhouses and the farmer's free intent houses. The changes of type and residential space between them are as follows.The traditional farmhouses which were four types - '一type' and 'ㄱtype' house with floor, '一type' and 'ㄱtype' house without floor' - were built as the construction way of the past.
Since the second half of the 1960s, the roof, fence, kitchen and toilet of traditional farmhouse were changed by a rural policies such as the Saemaul Movement and so on. The reformed farmhouses transformed from the traditional farmhouse were changed to pursue the convenience and function by modernization policy of the government authorities. So that the reformed house has four types - 'ㄱtype', 'ㄷtype', '二type' and 'scattered type' by extension and renewal.
Since the second half of the 1970s, the modern farmhouse were built 'ㄱtype', '一type' and '一transformed type' house by the standard drawings spreaded and designed by the government. But the sunshade, bath room, boiler room and storage were extended at four side of them, so that their type was being changed '一type', 'ㄱtype', 'ㄱtransformed type' and 'unfixed type' house though extension and renewal.Since the second half of the 1980s, the farmer's free intent houses which were built by the assistance of a person concerned in architecture showed '一 type', 'ㄱtype' and 'ㄱtransformed type'. But because of adding multipurpose room, storage, laundry room, boiler room and entrance later, they have a tendency to be transformed 'unfixed type'. |
