The object of this study is one of the traditional houses about Kejia's Tulou which is one of the most remarkable types of rural dwelling at Fujiansheng in China. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyse the forces that shape these Tulous and give them identificial characteristics on the basis of historical and natural-geographical background and the plan type at Fujiansheng area Kejia built the Tulou similar to an apartment house of today joined together to fix the boundary b its wall between each family unit. The need for family security among an originally somewhat hostile indigenous population is thought to have led to the development of these large rectangular and round communal houses with walls mainly blank on the outside, defensible entrances, and public service facilities in the center of the house. So that it looks like a fort by its external shape. |
