This study srcceeds the former one 'A study on Sowon Architecture of Choson Dynasty (I)', and treats the structure, design, and exterior space of Sowon Architecture. The structure of Sowon Architecture is gennerally Joo-Sim-Po, Ik-Kong, of Min-Do-Ri style, and it's design is simpler than those of palaces of temples. The elements forming the exterior space of Sowon Architecture are backyard-dongsan, tree, flower, Suckmool (stonework; Jungryodae, Suckdeung, Kwansedae, and other two Kinds of Suckmool whose names are not known), pond, and chimney, wall as design element. |
