This study examines the formation of communities in the region and the formation of cultural landscapes through regional changes through case analysis of SOGOROUP operating four cultural and artistic spaces in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu. First, through a theoretical review of the culture and arts space, it was confirmed that the scope of the study was divided into two subjects: administration and the private sector. In addition, the scope of research was limited to self-sustaining cultural and artistic spaces that occurred in the private sector. In addition, the current status of four spaces/programs operated by SOGOROUP voluntarily in Mangwon-dong was analyzed, and among the four spaces, two galleries and cocktail bars were analyzed as generating instruments, funding, programs, and performance indicators. There was a point that additional space was created for profit activities that occurred through creation and considered sustainability, support project activities for initial funds, programs that attracted residents¡¯ participation, and related performance indicators were set. In particular, the two spaces analyzed in-depth were linked to each other to form a cultural landscape through program planning at the resident level in the neighborhood. A self-sustaining cultural and artistic space goes beyond a simple creative space to discover and carry out local-friendly programs on its own, thereby forming a community with local residents. These communities are contributing to the formation of local cultural landscapes along with cultural and artistic spaces. It plays an auxiliary role in the planning and promotion of the community and at the same time serves as a window for the formation of a cultural landscape that expresses community programs in the region. However, it is true that it is difficult to set clear quantitative indicators for regional change. SOGOROUP is still a start-up in the early stages of culture and arts (within three years) and the Mangwon-dong Youth Association, which was formed, is short and less than a year, so it is not enough to talk about regional changes. Therefore, in addition to continuous monitoring, additional research is needed on the cultural and artistic space that has been active for a long time in the area called Mangwon-dong. |
