The aim of this paper is to conduct basic research for planning urban high-techindustrial complexes analyzing the physical characteristics. Through the review ofprior researches, 3 key planning factors were derived: Distance from the city center,complex usage, and spatial connectivity and network. The physical characteristics ofthe cases were analyzed focusing on those planning factors. The results of theanalysis are as follows: First, about 48% of urban high-tech industrial complexes inKorea are isolated from the city center. Second, no sufficient ‘neighborhoodfacilities’ were provided, and industrial usage was found in the area for ‘supportingfacilities’. Third, no sufficient spatial connection and network are provided due tothe green buffer zone and barriers. |
