In general, it is important for a tour guide system to provide tourists with information optimized within limited time by walking and public transit. However, until now, Korea¡¯s tour guide system has been arbitrarily constructed without taking into account the characteristics of foreign tourists, due to no objective basis for the location of tour guide signs. This study proposes a methodology of the Tourist Pedestrian Network Analysis to derive an objective basis for determining the location of tour guide signs, and a simulation on Yong-du San & Jagalchi Special District in Busan was conducted to test this methodology. In terms of methodology, network analysis, conventionally used for analyzing physical urban environment, was combined with data mining techniques reflecting tourist preferences to propose a methodology of the Tourist Pedestrian Network Analysis. As a result of the simulation, hierarchical points were derived, considering various tourist routes and tourists¡¯ walking paths, and by comparing these points with the existing plan, it was proved that tour guide signs by type can be distributed more efficiently, in terms of quantity and location. |
