도시 맵핑은 도시의 지역적 맥락과 관계를 시각화하여 도시 공간의 특성을 분석하고, 새로운 공간 해석 및 도시설계 작업에 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 활용의 범위가 넓어지고 있는 도시 맵핑 작업에 대한 체계적 분석을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 건축-도시 공간의 유형형태(Typo morphology) 분석 방법을 기초로 도시 맵핑을 표현 요소 및 기법으로 나누어 분석한다. 관련 연구 및 사례 분석을 통해 도시설계 과정에서 중요하게 다루어지는 도시 맵핑 요소들과 시각화를 위해 사용된 맵핑 기법들을 선별하고, 맵핑 요소와 표현 기법의 재분류를 통해 도시 맵핑 작업에 대한 분석의 틀을 제안한다. 도시 맵핑 요소로는 '형태', '시간', '스케일', '정보', '흐름'을 기본 맵핑 요소로 재분류 한다. 표현 기법으로는 두 단계 카테고리로 구분하여 '레이어', '비교', '추상화' 기법을 상위 표현 구상 기법으로 하고, 하위 세부 표현 기법으로는 '선택', '왜곡', '결합', '변형' 및 '텍스트'를 활용하거나 '사진'을 활용한 기법을 포함시킨다. 이와 같이 재분류 된 분석의 틀을 가지고 실제 도시 맵핑 작업에 대한 분석을 진행하고, 맵핑 요소와 표현 기법의 다양한 활용 가능성을 살펴본다. |

Urban mapping works have been developed for various urban spatial analyses based on urban design process. This research aims for understanding urban mapping process, which has became more complicated and obscure. Basic factors of urban mapping can be divided into two categories, mapping contents and mapping techniques, those factors were examined in related researches and mapping cases from typomorphology analysis. Under detail investigations of literature reviews and case studies, the mapping contents and techniques can be reclassified into five mapping contents('form', 'time', 'scale', 'data', 'flow') and eight mapping techniques in a two step process('layering', 'comparison', 'abstraction' in step one and 'selection', 'distortion', 'combination', 'transformation', 'using text', 'using picture' in step two). These reclassified elements are verified through analysis of actual cases of urban mapping, which supports to find various possibilities of using mapping contents and techniques in urban mapping works. |
