가로체계는 도시의 의도적ㆍ비의도적 변화 가운데 오랫동안 형성되고 축적되어온 결과물이며 이로 인한 안정성과 연결성, 투과성과 같은 장점을 보존하는 바탕 위에서 도시의 변화가 이루어질 필요가 있다. 그러나 최근 각 도시의 기존 도심부에서 이루어지는 각종 재개발 사업은 자의적인 개발영역 설정, 투과성을 없앤 내향적 공간구성 방식, 폐쇄적인 단지형 개발 등을 통해 기존 가로체계를 예측할 수 없게 변형시키고 있어 문제가 되고 있다. 본 연구는 대전시 구도심부를 대상으로 하여 지정된 재개발 구역 때문에 나타나는 가로체계상의 변화를 공간구문론상의 방법을 통해 분석해보고, 이러한 개발 경향이 장기적으로 도시구조에 가져올 변화를 예측하고 그 문제점과 대안을 파악하고자 하였다. 그 결과 재개발의 결과가 기존 가로체계의 구성을 단절적으로 변화시켜 도시구조의 소통과 인식도를 저해할 가능성이 높고 가로의 위계가 예측할 수 없게 변동하는 등 가로체계 전반에 부정적 외부효과가 나타날 가능성이 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 최소한의 통과가로 확보만으로도 이러한 문제점이 많이 줄어드는 것으로 나타나 이를 반영하는 재개발 정책상의 고려가 필요하다고 판단하였다. |

Urban structures usually become stable through intentional planning and unintended growth over a long period of time. Particularly urban street systems need to be improved in consideration of stability, connectivity and local permeability of the urban structure during this process. Notwithstanding, the current urban redevelopment projects that take place in the inner city, have a tendency to cause the partial elimination of the existing characteristics with arbitrary establishment of developing areas, spatial configuration methods which hinder spatial permeability and make it introverted, and uncommunicative and closed residential sites. This study aims at analyzing the spatial structure of Daejeon and the impact of the ongoing redevelopments on its structure, especially on the changes of the street system, by applying Space Syntax related indices. Also, the long-term effects of this development tendency on the urban structure will be analyzed to understand the problem and help suggest an alternative plan. |
