철도교통시설은 급속히 증가하고 있는 폐철도교통시설의 양에 비해 대규모 단위시설이나 집합형의 시설군을 이루지 못하고, 선과 점의 형상을 기본으로 하는 지원형 시설이라는 한계 때문에 산업유산으로서의 가치 인식은 타산업유산에 비해 늦은 편이다. 이러한 관점 속에서 본 연구는 철도교통 관련 산업유산의 재활용 과정에서 고려되어야 할 원칙과 방법을 분석하고, 이와 관련된 지역재생 시스템의 도출을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 산업유산의 재활용과 관련된 지역재생 시스템의 일반론(3단계)을 가설로 설정하고, 국내·외 사례분석과 고찰을 통해 이를 검증한다. 최종적으로 철도교통의 특성이 반영된 지역재생 시스템(4단계)을 재정립한다. 이 과정 속에서 도출한 핵심적 시사점은 철도교통관련 산업유산의 영역(철도역 공간, 이동 공간, 지원 공간, 지역 환경)에 따라 철도만의 특성(공간, 기능, 심상적 가치)이 반영된 지역밀착형 접근과 지역사회와 환경을 고려한 장기·점진적 재활용과정이 이루어져야 한다는 것이다. 또한 상보적 관계 속에서 관련 주체들 간의 자발적인 참여를 통한 유지·관리가 지속될 때 지역재생의 효과가 발생한다는 점이다. |

This study begins with the problem of perception on our environment and the need to develop systematic methods to reuse railroad transport related industrial facilities that are rapidly becoming dilapidated. The purpose of the study is to formulate the principles and methods that should be considered in the course of developing ways to reuse our railroad transport related industrial heritage and in so doing regenerate regions. In order to achieve the purposes of the study, there is a need to formulate a general theory(3 phases) for systematic regional regeneration related to the reuse of the industrial heritage in Korea and examines this issue through the analysis and examination of domestic and international cases. Finally, this develops and establishes a regional regeneration system(4 phases) that reflects and utilizes the features of railroad transport. The suggestions put forward in this process are as follows: differentiated approaches should be applied to areas containing railroad transport facilities that are related to the industrial heritage(railroad station spaces, spaces for conveyance, supporting spaces and the local environment) so that these facilities can be fully reused in a manner that promotes a locality by reflecting the unique features of railroad transport(space, function and concept). |
