The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the reciprocity between the building development pattern and plot size on the central commercial area in newtown, Korea. Six new town development projects in Seoul Metropolitan Area were selected and analyzed from the perspective of location, land use, plot size, and building types. Resulting from the analysis, this paper identified the following trends: First, the composition of plot size is different among study areas. second, there is an optimum plot size by building types; location, use, and height of buildings. Third, when plot size is suitable to building type, developments are coincident with urban design. Finally, this paper suggested synthetic approaches for the location, urban morphology, and building typology. |
