본 연구의 목적은 1945년 이후 마산시의 도시공간구조의 변화과정과 변화요인을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 마산시의 인구, 토지이용, 산업, 용도지역, 도시개발, 가로망 등 현재 및 과거의 자료를 조사·분석하고 그래픽 도구를 활용하여 1957년부터 2007년까지의 시가지의 변화를 도면화하여 표현하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인문사회적 요인에서, 1970년대와 1980년대에는 도시인구가 급격하게 증가하여 행정구역이 확대되었고, 도시내 주택지 조성 등의 도시개발사업이 진행되어 도시공간구조는 크게 변화되었다. 둘째, 산업경제적 요인에서, 도시성장과 공간구조의 변화는 마산수출자유지역과 창원공업지기 건설 등 산업입지에 큰 영향을 받았는데, 이러한 산업입지는 도시의 인구증가로 이어졌다. 1990년대 이후 대규모 공장이 다른 도시로 이전하고, 마산 자유무역지역이 쇠퇴하는 등의 산업쇠퇴가 이루어지면서 도시는 정체기에 접어들었다. 결론적으로 보면, 인문사회적 요인과 산업경제적 요인에 의한 시가지내 토지이용의 변화, 주택지 등의 도시개발사업, 제한된 시가지공간으로 인한 매립과 행정구역의 변화, 지역간 주요교통로 개설 등의 시가지 확충 및 정비에 따라 마산시의 도시공간구조는 크게 변화되었다고 할 수 있다. |

The purpose of this paper is to analyze on the characteristics and change process of urban spatial structure in Masan city since 1945. To find out that, the present and the past data about various urban index such as population, land use, industry, zoning, urban land development and street etc. in Masan city were surveyed. For this study, we presented the change of spatial structure on the maps from 1957 to 2007 by ArcView GIS as a graphic technique. The results of this study are summarized as: First, in human social aspect, population concentration to urban center had an effect on the administrative division reorganization, and sub-urbanization had consisted since 1990, after Changwon city had separated from that in 1980. Second, in geographical aspect, urban function had intensified more by urban development project and Masan bay’s reclamation. Main street construction and commercial and residential land use plan affected the pulling factor on urban growth in Masan city. Third, in industrial aspect, urban growth and change of spatial structure had effected by Msan Free Trade Zone and Changwon National Industry Complex. Now Masan city is gradually declining because the big manufactures have moved to other cities after 1990’s and industrial sites didn’t have enough. |
