필자는 우리나라의 좌식 생활과 온돌 표면의 온도에따라 반응하는 낭심의 온도에 대하여 조사하였다(송국섭, 2004). 그러나 연구실 중심이고 대사율이 낮은앉아서 독서를 하는 경우로 제한하였으므로 다양한 생활 형식을 포괄적으로 함축한다고 보기 어려웠기 때문에 보완 실험을 계획하였다. Bunn(1995)은 실험실의연구 결과는 실질적인 생활을 반영하지 못한 것이라는비판을 참조하였다.본 조사의 목적은 선행연구를 보완하기 위하여 대사량이 높은 경우, 바닥온도에 따라 반응하는 낭심 및 인체의 변화를 측정하기 위함이다. 선행연구가 다분히실험실 조건이었으므로 실재의 생활환경에서 대사량이 높은 조건을 모사하였다. 그리고 선행 연구의 실험시간이 50분으로 한정되어 더 많은 시간 동안 낭심의온도 변화를 관찰할 필요가 있어서 180분 (3시간)으로충분히 계획하였다. |

Since Koreans habitually sit on the heated floor in their residential buildings, the male testis is directlyexposed, and is therefore affected, by the floor surface temperature. The purpose of this study is to investigate thechanges in the scrotal temperature of subjects in a sedentary posture and high metabolism rate over the heated floor.A rigid screening test was performed to select healthy subjects. Finally, six college students volunteered to participatein the experiments. Experiment was designed for a high metabolism state, with the subjects playing a card game ina sedentary posture for 180min. The floor surface temperature (tf) was controlled by varying the temperature of water(tw) flowing underneath of the floor surface from 30oC to 40oC, at 5oC intervals. Experiment revealed that the finalscrotal temperature was 33.43oC, 34.78oC, and 35.61oC, and the difference between the initial and final scrotal tem-peratures was +0.34oC, +1.06oC, and +2.24oC, at tw 30oC (tf 27.8oC), 35oC (tf 31.7oC), and tw 40oC (tf 35.9oC), respec-tively. The scrotal temperature was affected by the floor surface temperature and by the rate of metabolism of thesubject in a sedentary posture. As derived from regression analysis, the recommended surface temperature of a heatedfloor is within 23oC~33oC to achieve spermatogenesis. |
