요약2 The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of swimming exercise on serum inflammatory markers and HIF-2α mRNA expression of cartilage in rheumatoid arthritis model mice. Experiment animal were randomly assigned to swimming exercise group (n=9) and control group (n=9). Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) was induced in male DBA/1J mice by intradermal injection of bovine collagen-II in Freund’s incomplete adjuvant (IFA). The swimming exercise group trained for 30 min/day, for 4 day/week for 6 weeks. Six weeks swimming exercise significantly reduced serum inflammatory makers (IL-6, TNF-α) and HIF-2α mRNA expression in cartilage while increasing the concentration of IL-10. Also, arthritic scores significantly reduced. Swimming exercise improved inflammatory response markers in mice with rheumatoid arthritis, suggesting that it can be a useful physical strategy in mice with rheumatoid arthritis. Future research should focus on finding optimal type and dose of exercise.
