요약2 Tai Chi is a slow and gentle exercise that is suitable for older adults with chronic disease. This exercise offers the benefits of fitness and health. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different Tai Chi exercise on blood variables (glucose, cholesterol, T.G, HDL, LDL, cortisol) and physical fitness (muscle strength, flexibility, muscle endurance, agility, balance), POMS index (anxiety, anger, fatigue, gloom, activity, chaos) in middle aged obese woman. Thirty six obese women were recruited from the public health center. They were divided into NY (n=18, Yang style) group and BB (n=18, 12KS). Two groups were participated in 12 weeks (3 times/week) of Tai Chi exercise program. Data were analyzed with Two-way ANOVA by repeated measure. The results were as follows. Blood variables (glucose, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, cortisol) and Physical fitness(muscle strength, flexibility, muscle endurance, agility, balance) were improved pre and post Tai Chi exercise program in both groups. Also, physical fitness factors (muscle strength, flexibility, muscle endurance) were significant improvement in both groups. However balance was significantly increased in BB(12KS) group than in NY(YS) group. POMS related indexes (anxiety, anger, fatigue, gloom, chaos) were significantly decreased and activity was significantly increased in both groups. In conclusion, Tai Chi exercise was effective to improve blood variable, physical fitness and POMS index.
