This paper, the result of the over-all investigation of a group of villages, is a part of my research on rural planning and proposes to analyse the constructional rural dwethod of a dwelling-house and its pattern. The early part of this paper has dealt with social background of the rural dwelling-house and the later part has analysed the date obtanind from the on-the-site investigation of the referred area was carried out jointly with the staff mambers of the Yosizaka Architectural & City planning Research Center at Waseda University in Japan.1. The frequrncy of plane-type dwelling in the area under invesigation occurs in the frllowing order: , ,-,1, The well-known type is more precisely the type. Under the existing circumstancds the type is the most rational one when viewed from architectural structure, and this proves the living wisdom of the rural residents. 2. Through the general idea of a western-style living kitchen is rapidly spurading throughout the country, the structure of the living room kitchen cannot be applied to a Korean-style rural house-from the view point of architectural strucutre.3. The developmental process of a western-style dwelling house is from the separation of eating and sleeping to the separation of rising and sleeping. But the Korean-style house is the exact opposite of this process. |
